Binary Editor: These buttons activate the Binary Mode dialog for the corresponding search & replace string fields. Binary Mode is used to search or replace across multiple lines or enter special characters in the search or replace fields. If you create a string using binary mode input, "Binary mode -->>" is displayed on the respective Search &/or Replace string lines. To revise or check your entry, click on this button again.

If you are doing a Search & Replace operation, it is OK to have one component as a "binary mode" string and the other as a regular string (or even a blank string).

Press CTRL+Binary Mode button to quickly insert the current search/replace string into the respective binary mode dialog.

Note: If you have a search/replace where you want to span one or more lines but are not concerned with CR LF's or Tab's per se, consider using the *[] regular expression search operator.
